Dilema and Dewali Holidays

It all started about 10 days back.There was a news that the hostel  would remain closed for about 10 days due to dewali.Rumors were that it was officially from PTU,which was lately confirmed by a notice in the hostel's notice board.

Initial Feelings

Firstly,we were all surprised,it was welcomed by some and criticized by many including me.
This news came at the time when we were sucked up from our hectic schedule and still it's the same....
much greater work load..!!!
but for some,it was not the case.

The main reason of discontentment among the students was that the college administration took this opportunity to save money,they also issued a notice notifying that the hostel will remain closed during the Dewali holidays.
That meant that we were not allowed to stay in the hostel after 24th October,that is today's date.
Some took their tickets(waiting) others planned to stay nearby the college,few went to their relatives in Delhi,NCR and other places where they seemed to find their accommodation.

 Change and how did it occur

I'm writing this post today on 24th,and this day was supposed to be our last in the hostel,we are now allowed to stay,and avail the major facilities.
Till now i suspect that all students must have realized the fact behind this.The main motive was to send as many hostel students away from hostel as possible.In the end of the day they succeed to much extent.
Today,there are hardly 20-25 left in my IET boys Hostel,having capacity of over 400 students.
Previous year,many students celebrated their Dewali in the hostel,exploding crackers,bombs,here and there,damaging hostel's property,last year they also organized a feast on Dewali.This year it's all reverse,it seems the college authorities have planned to cut down their expenses.

My thoughts

Starting from the day this notice was issued i was sure of myself of staying here during the holidays,if not possible in college then else where.There are lot of things incomplete,say it assignments,Machine drawing sheets(2 more sheets to complete out of 23),others in spite of lagging(less than 15 sheets complete),happily went home including my room partner.Moreover our 2nd Sessional exams begin from 8th November and Semester exams from 21 November,so i am not in a mood of wasting time, there is no gain without pain

Few days back at home,5 days before reopening of my college and stareting of the 3rd semester,finally i decided  ,so on 5th august i ended up at patna junction at 5:30 in the morning to get m,y tatkal ticket ,i had to wake up at 4:00 in the morning for that.Got my ticket at 7:55 after going the troblesome to be in a line of about 80-100 people.

Sony Vegas Pro Vs Adobe After Effects

Recently i came across Sony Vegas Pro 10.0

It is a video editing software made by Sony Corporation.
About a month back i downloaded from torrent,and about 3 days back i started using it since i needed to edit a video desperately.
Previously i used to edit on Windows Movie Maker,It is simple in design,user friendly for noobs,and efficient for basic editing.
Now its major demerit is nonavailability of comprehensive features.This problem was solved bu Adobe After Effects and lately Sony Vegas Pro 10.0

Here we go,now i'm gonna make some quick contrast between the above two on non technical grounds.

Adobe After Effects CS5 is far more superior to Sony Vegas Pro 10.0

• After Effects may appear to have a complex user interface in first look and so do Vegas Pro.

• After Effects focuses on advance motion graphics,animation and composting whereas Vegas Pro is for professional video and audio production, as company's tag line says.It has HD rendering capabilities.
• we can efficiently edit videos and audio easily with the help of interactive tutorials on Vegas Pro also it can run on computer having minimal hardware.
• After Effects requires system configuration above normal,by this i mean to say Ram above 2 Gb, processor having good cloak speed and a graphics card of adequate memory as per the video to be edited.

what a drag....!!!

It's been two days now,today was third.It is now clear,yeah i'm targeting end semester workshop training.It's no less than a crap and waste of time.
It is even worse than the normal workshop training that we had in the 2nd semester.
This end semester training is about a month long.It is quite hectic for us considering this scorching summer heat.
many students have already planned o quit it before it's scheduled closure,about a week earlier.It doesn't bother me much.I've decided to leave after training gets completed as i have already made my journey ticket to home.But as said earlier,this training is beginning to appear as a big fat drag.

main reason

From 3 days now we are having machine shop training .There are about 26 students(group 1 of our section) working an a single lathe machine.This way no one is gonna learn properly.I believe this whole training session is just a formality in our college.These are things one has to face if he is not in a reputed engineering college.

There is a solution to this.The only way is to lead the group. 

Enhancements

It came about a week after,i posed the above post.
They are making us to make simple jobs,which i think is futile.
In carpentry shop,we completed 3 jobs in just about 2 hours(usually we are given 6 hours to complete a single job),so as to learn the other techniques as well.

This post was supposed to be posted yesterday but wify network broke down around my hostel room region,so i am posting this post now.....

It is not much time left for the final showdown,it is just a week after from now.Today we had our last day of internal viva's we are free now,and just need to concentrate on our studies.

Our (M.E. - B) last viva was of Communication Skills.We weren't sure how the external examiner would conduct the Viva.At the last moment it ended with the news that we would be facing each other in Group Discussion. It was group of about 15 students,sitting on chairs arranged in semicircular pattern.I was supposed to give my viva in the second batch after the viva of first batch gave over.It was being conducted on Univ. Roll no. basis.

Our subject of discussion was on: India's talented people who don't get a chance to show their talent (here i'm missing of the proper words which Arif sir told).We had a healthy discussion.I started the discussion and it also ended with my words.

After GD, we answered to Viva questions,which were missiled towards us by both Dr. Mohammad Arif (Our C.S. Teacher) and the External teacher.Although i didn't prepare for the viva,it went nicely overall.I answered to their questions on my knowledge attained from the Lingual Lab and Lectures (Having 100% attendance in both).The bottom line is i made them captive with my Vocabulary and sense of perception.I often resented to other student's opinion as some of them were out of subject of the discussion and to more extent wrong. I think, my loud audible voice did it for me.

At last, i felt that external examiner and our teacher was quite impressed with my way of discussion.After all I had a piece of icing left to put on the cake, my C.S. Project Report, it was submitted by a group of five students. I had to put my best knowledge and hard work to complete the Project,the other 3 members out of 4 only collected data on their respective subtopics.

Our Project was divided into four subtopics: Mine was Economical Section followed by other three, namely Political,,social and Historical.
Finally here is our project,that came out....

Approaching 2nd Semester exams

It's about 12 days from now and our second semester exams will start.This Semester was supposed to be "Change" for me after dismal performance in the 1st semester.There isn't time left,but i need to utilize and manage my time adequately.I have a lot to study in M2,perhaps it is the subject which can get  ugly for me.I don't understand why i don't study those subjects of which i have books.For instance i have books of M2 and C.S. but hardly used them for my studies, instead i laid much emphasis on BEEE, Physics etc, having no books......!!!

My 1st paper is M2,are 12 days sufficient?

That's the question which i keep asking myself now and then....

Whatever,i just need to concentrate,prepare well and perform well.

bull shit of cultural fests.

The 3rd day of our cultural festival is about to come to an end in about of twenty minutes.It was Rock Night today this means  that we were supposed to watch some of them performing here in our college.
Today our Rock Night started from 8 p.m.,Today we were only allowed to enter the party ground if we had our college ID Cards with us.It was okay considering the security reasons.Diploma students weren't welcomed there,they weren't supposed to come to our Rock Night,but there's always few exceptions.... haaaaa haaaaaa
Somehow some of them managed to get an ID from the Degree student and tried their luck,some managed to enter and some had to return with sad face to the hostel :(
Akash Anand,Vikas Soren,Prem Ranjan,Pankaj Prakash plus some others and me entered the party point.
we arranged an ID for ,Mahboob Alam and Vivek Thakur(Diploma students),Mahboob entered and unfortunately vivek had to leave.
Itna karna padta hai yaar.......
We were in we roamed here and there for about 45 minutes,then we started feeling boring.
we were very anxious since yesterday a MBA student with his group physically abused one of my friend taking advantage of him being alone.That asshole was drunk,my friend just managed to escape after getting some of him.
It was good that he escaped that situation,he had to cross over a 9 feet wall so as to get over from there in quick time,a day before yesterday another fight broke between students.A Punjabi student was brutally beaten with fists and foots and with bricks  by a group of other Punjabi students.
Another news came that few of them also were injured with punabi knife,which they are accustomed to carry.

However coming back to my friends situation......
The story goes back to the 1st Semester,we were new in the college.About 2 months had passed by then.
we were about to have our fresher party in the coming couple of weeks.
One day,after we had our dinner,we were on our usual walk in the campus.  
A group of seniors(Punjabi's) approached us.We were about 7-8 in number and they were too in that very number.
They approached us,we were puzzled that what they want from us. One of them started conversing with us.
Indirectly they were were ragging us.In the beginning they took our intro,which was okay.......
Later on they changed gears and jumped on us for being Bihari.
They tried to make some of us realize that who we are and why weren't Bihari's are allowed to take part in The Fresher Party Functions.He indirectly insulted us for being Bihari.
We had taken enough of him by then.we told them that we are leaving then the unexpected thing happened.
 That bloody MBA student forcefully grabbed one of my friends collar and exclaimed that no buddy will move until he will say to move.
Then we resented and their friends got in defensive mood and tried convinse that MBA fellow to leave our friend.
10 mins. later we were in the hostel searching for our hostel head warden to register a complaint against that fellow.
On that day it was quite a mess created,and the first one of its kind in the hostel for the starting year.
Our head warden Mishra summoned them in their office and a compromise was made.

That asshole that day took advantage of the situation and tried to beat my friend in group.
 now coming back to the third day of the fest.
we didn't spend much time this day,we left the party ground earlier as we had nothing to do but to hear the local Punjabi guys(singers) which caused us to just pissed off.we roamed outside our campus to the NH for about half an hour,Vikas bought  few of the  cigarettes and we just spent our time trash talking about these fests.At about 10:00 we were inside our hostel,few minutes later we met in our mess,had food and went to retire for the bed.
This way our first college festival nights came to an monotonous end.

Hostel Holi

18 th,19th march
It was Holi and our first in the hostel.the day started very causally,me and my friends pre planned that we would play after having breakfast,around 10:00 am.I was bit hesitant as i used to be and very cautious when it comes to the use of artificial,inorganic,industrial colors in holi.
Here it was no other situation than this.I woke up around 9:00 am.Got fresh and while i was returning to my room,a tall student (i certainly don't knew him before),he came eagerly to me with his hand full of concentrated color mixture,which literally shocked me for a while,i went back few steps in hesitation,requesting him not to....
I told him that i will certainly join him after i while will i will make my initial preparations for playing holi,somehow he left me,so i then went for the break fast.It was around  10:00 then.It was Sunday and our breakfast timing was between 9:00 am to 10:15 am,so i had to hurry....
After my breakfast i returned directly to my room,with caution,having fear of getting my face painted :/
For a time being i decided not to take part in this Holi as i used to do at home.I indulged myself in my Communication skills Project report,I was then preparing our project top page or Banner.
1 hour passed through,nothing much happened but loitering and noises outside my room.Around 11:30, Rajeev came,he knocked my door,as it was locked from inside.Ater having confirmed that he is empty handed i opened the door,he the tried to pull me to take part. That time i wasn't much sure that what to do,to go or to not to go....I convinced him that i am coming  after few minutes and i closed the door.15 mins after Nitesh kumar knocked,i again opened the door in hesitation,he said the same thing as Rajeev,then i thought better to participate,since this day is special and comes only once in a year.
I then made them go away by saying that i will be following them soon.They went away..............
Again i locked my self up in the room to prepare the upcoming showdown... :D
I took quite an quantity of olive oil and and massaged on my face,neck and hands.
Grabbed some old clothes on and finally i was ready for the showdown............
Then after a while Rajeev appeared and we both went three floor downstairs,in the basket ball court where everyone was waiting for a clean guy....

Result of 1st semester

The result 1st semester B-Tech students was declared on 4th march.That day was our last day in PTU 14th annual athletic meet.The speculation came that the result has been declared.many other 1st year students were seen talking on their cell phones.It was evening by now and we(me ,Nikhil Garg and a 3rd year Ece girl student) were sitting on chairs,having a bottle of cold drink in one hand and a packet of kurkure in the other
This was just when our last event (110m hurdles)went over.
At the end of the day when we were boarding for for the bus for hostel,i did a couple of  back flips as Avinash Jaiswal urged me.And finally we were in the bus,the bus was on its way,we had nothing to do,except sleep  we were quite exhausted and restless.me and Avinash grabbed a two seater seat,and we both laid down to have a little sleep.Some one from the group started playing Punjabi songs by connecting his mobile to the 2.1 channel audio player which was set on the ceiling face to face both sides.
Seriously it pissed me a hell lot,It made me irritated,i borrowed a earphone fro Avinash and inserted it into my ears so as lessen the sound into my ears.In midst our journey Avinash was so keen to know his result,making conversations with his class mate on the phone.It was difficult that day to browse the result since we were having internet failure in our hostel for about a 4 days now.Later on news came that my room mate Yogesh Kumar has failed in all the subjects.lol and many other too had 5 supplies out of five in the first sem.Akash Anand(good friend),Ramesh with others too had 5 supplies out of five.I couldn't believe that Ramesh(C.S - B) had this poor result,he is good student and he too had descent exam. :( :( :(
Result of Akash and Yogesh was near about my expectation,they both never neither studied seriously nor they ever cared to.
Today both of them at their home celebrating holi,about a week prior to holi.Probably hey have more time O.O
Returning to the bus now,Gradually,we got acquainted with each others result.Yogesh was browsing it by connected his mobile to his lappy.
Avinash had 4 supplies,Bijendra,Ravi kumar,Vikas Soren,Ravindar had 3,Nitesh kumar had 2,Nand Kishor and Nikhil Garg were all clear,folowe by Rajeev kumar(96 in mathematics 1).
We reached our hostel at about 10:45,we all hostelers had our dinner in Dhaba in Khanna.After reaching the hostel i went straight to the Warden's room for Gopal for my hostel attendance.Walked the stairs with my bag on my back.
I went to Akash's room to inquire about their result,there was a big surprise waiting for me.............................

Our 1st Group Discussion

Today we had our 1st GD,almost all the students of our batch attended it,leaving few great ones.Today Arif sir again made us familiar with an update regarding the disciplinary actions that would be taken on the students who would bunk his lingual lab.And the  money which will be collected would be used  to reward the best performer of the class.
Today he switched on  his lingual lab by giving many citations that what to do,what not to in GD.
After getting all the ABC's of GD,practical GD starts.
Again i was in the first group of five,we sat on chairs arranged in semicircular fashion.Our topic of discussion was :
"THE DEVASTATION CAUSED BY NATURAL HAZARD IN JAPAN"
I started the discussion,i would love quote my starting sentence which i spoke.
"Japan has had a history of getting being affected by natural hazards and disaster and this week the same thing happened again.In about a week many people of Japan have been rendered homeless without any supplies seeking shelter in relief camps."
I spoke considerably  well  but still with some hiccups.Ahhhh these things pisses me off.... :X
Later or sooner which i  intend to improve on it.yes hmmnnnn.....
Even though i got the first position in the group of five,i wasn't much satisfied
Following our group,there came another group,Nikhil Garg was in it.
I must admit he's presently  a comparatively good speaker than me.The one thing i liked most in his way of discussion,was his confidence and  fluency in his thoughts.
I shall too improve on these things.

Today,had a lot of traveling,about 500km.so tiring,ek toh raat me 1 baje soya,aur subha me 5 baje uthna tha taki 6 baje tak bus pakad sake.

today,we(me and my class mate Nikhil Garg)had our events in 110 m mens hurdles.we were required to reach the event ground

after the lunch.our bus started from the RIMT campus at around 6:20 am,20 minutes after its scheduled time waiting for the late ones.

in midst our journey we stopped at khanna,waiting there for the day scholar athletes to board the bus.There we all had a little chuski of chai,and finally we got into going.

in the between it stopped once more and finally we were all together and et in for the grand finale.

we reached the SANT. BABA BHAG SINGH'S EDUCATIONAL COMPLEX at around 10: am.

we arrived late,actually starting ceremony was going on,our team had very less time for to get prepared and take part,so we had nothing to do but to gaze.

Our team consisted of about 50 members comprising of athletes from RIMT management,architecture,IET(morning and evenng shift),Agrasen colleges.

my group had 3 members(Me,Avinash Jaiswal and Nikhil Garg).Avinash was from IET Evening shift and Nikhil was my classmate.

we inquired about our events,Nikhil and mine events were same,we took part in 200 m sprint and 110 m hurdles.200 M race event was to commence around 4 p.m. after lunch,so we were relaxed on the other hand Avinash and others had their events before lunch.

we had not much to do before lunch so decided to have few glances here and there.....

we placed chairs just beside track to watch team's performing.

In between we had a couple of refreshments at the refreshment stall.there was lassi,crude sugarcane juice and tea.

Before lunch we started our warmup with little jogging,stretching and conditioning.

in lunch we just had  a chapati roll and a little cold drink and we were ready for the showdown.

My Feelings just before our race

Just before the race,Nikhil and me came to know that we were in the same heat.ohhhhh,aab hamari phatne wali thi.....

Our was was very poor,we started quite late in response to the starting clap,which led to our downfall.

I finished at 4th and Nikhil at 5th.Ahhhh if our starting would had been better then the result could had been in our favour.Atleast we both could have grabbed 2nd and 3rd position :D

PTU Annual sports 2011

It's exciting to be a part of the college team.It fells good,proudy....
that's what one should  suppose to be feel,yeah. A day before yesterday we were(IET-Morning batch)supposed to give the trails for the selection in the college team for the PTU Annual sports meet 2011,which is scheduled to occur at SBBSIET ,Jalandhar but they didn't occur,especially we hostelers were called again at 5:00 pm for the same.but again news was the same.Instead the director of the sports gave a reason that we should do some warmups before the trail,which was ok from our perspective.later when our warmups went over we again approached him for our trails.
This time we were fired to hear that our trails will take place tomorrow the same time i.e 5:00 pm.That was pathetic .we were running here n there and they just really didn't care.
The worst news came tomorrow.when we got a sneakpeak info from IET-Evening batch student Prem singh that our trails will not occur,they are just fooling us,actually thay had their team made previously.The seniors who went for the PTU Annual sports meet last year,are actually supposed to go.
That's very annoying news as far as we 1st year students are concerned.some us are feeling so dejected and literally fckd up.....!!!
I did miss my 4-5 lectures in addition to this we also practiced so as to give our best attempt in the trails,but all in vain...
Now the news that i am getting is that there will be a college sports meet after in a month or so.....
so,i'm now looking forward to that....

It is a good felling,when someone admires you,yes,today it was the day.
Today we had another Communication skills lab and
About two weeks back sir had given a topic to prepare an assignment upon,it was based on Technical Communication and accordingly we had to give a presentation on it in the C.S  lab.
Today it was the very same day,i was quite calm,certainly because,few days back,someone made me realize,that what it means to be a Karenite. and what i have undertook to be become like this.....
Today,i had this thing in my mind,i was calm,relaxed,i just felt that i need to simply bring it out,what is so called potential that i had in me and just i needed to realize.
Today i spoke my heart out and in return got few better compliments from our sir(Dr. Mohammad Arif).There are many things i like about him.He sometimes says,today was no exception,he said that " We should consider ourselves the students blessed with best fortunes,that we studying in a college or a University,we should be obliged to our parents that they have sent us to study".
I truly feel the essence of his lines,there are many in the blessed with so much of good talent but are merely waiting for a change.

Need a Change

2nd Feb 2011

I am very depressed and annoyed from myself..
why am i like this.......!!!
why am i so in contended with my self.....!!!
Today my college day stated with maths lecture,i was in the class on time(which is a new thing considering i rarely reach on time for 1st lecture).
Our maths teacher,who is also our class teacher Mr Pramod Kumar sir,gave us few questions on the topic which he had previously taught in his previous lecture...
I couldn't solve any of the questions completely.... WTF...!!!
You know why?????
coz i didn't know how to solve them.....fucking damnnn....!!!
I was very much depressed and angry with myself,this went on to grow more as i eventually saw my one of my friends(who was sitting just beside me)solving one by one with ease and quite quickly... :X :(
Momentarily,I wanted to leave my all the upcoming lectures and decided to go to my hostel room and study.
the biggest problem with me is my lack of commitment towards studies,which i always aspire to improve upon......!!!
my study time is between 9:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. ,before this time i like to use the internet on my lappy.


I definitely need a change


About half an hour ago,i attended my 2nd communication skills lab about half an hour back,led by Md. Arif Sir.This class was very important from everyone's perspective.we were told to make our groups,comprising of at least of three and almost of five students.my group has five students,i was invited by Prabhjot Singh in his group,but i couldn't accept his proposal as my team was already formed.We were given 10 topics to prepare a report.we have few days of time to select the topic and accordingly we need to research,develop thoughts and ideas and summon them in form of a printed report,and submit it in about of 2 months......
Let's see what happens...!!!

One thing which i liked most,apart from the movie was its its headline

13 rd day of 2nd semester

college and hostel fee deposited...

Attended communication skills lecture at 1:10

Although i am brought up by an English school,which was affiliated to CBSE,
i found today to my astonishment that my legs were shivering with my heart best rosed up to quite an extent when i was called on the stage for the presentation .......
Our C.S. teacher : Mr Arif Khan, Sir gave us a excerpt  from today's English newspaper,
he wanted us to narrate the essence of the excerpt  in our own words...
he gave us one minute of time to get prepared mentally and physically .....


The first one to go on the stage was me...!!!!
i was quite anxious to give quite a presentation,but it didn't as i thought..!!!
unexpectedly i broke some times in between and lately i completed the presentation....

Remarks which i got from Sir :-

He exclaimed that my voice was audible but i need to lay more emphasis on pronunciation...!!!

My feelings after my presentation went over :-

At this time i was feeling quite relaxed and to some extent satisfied
I felt if i would have given a second chance it would have been a different scenario by then...

I am now looking forward for the next C.S. lecture.....
